Our 7 Pillars of Expertise

1. Resistance to Applied Wind Pressures

We perform comprehensive calculations to verify the ability of mullions, glazing, anchors, and silicone sealants to withstand wind pressures. In accordance with the National Building Code of Canada and the standards , IBC/ASCE 7-22 and Eurocode 1, we consider the service and ultimate loads for each component. - Verification of permissible deflections (L/175 or L/240 + 6 mm) - Glazing calculations according to E1300 - Structural silicone sealant sizing according to ASTM C1401 and ETAG 002 - Modeling of anchors subjected to tension, shear, and moments.

2. Resistance to the Thrust Applied by the User

When glazing also serves as a physical barrier (guardrail effect), we ensure its compliance with safety standards. - Calculation of the point force of 1 to 2 kN according to NBC, OBC or IBC - Analysis of tempered laminated glass according to ASTM E1300 and CAN/CGSB 12.20 - Verification of the transmission of loads to the mullions and the supporting structure.

3. Snow Load Resistance

Skylights, sloping walls, and rooflights must withstand snow loads according to NBCC, ASCE 7, and Eurocode 1.- Integration of local accumulation and roof sliding cases - Analysis of glazing under long-term load according to ASTM E1300- Verification of load evacuation through drainage and minimum slopes.

4. Resistance to Auxiliary Loads

We analyze point loads from sunshades, canopies, or cleaning platforms. - Calculation of eccentric forces transmitted to the mullions - Mechanical justification of anchors and inserts - Compliance with CSA S157 and equipment manufacturer (BMU) guidelines.

5. Resistance to Seismic Loads

Our seismic analyses allow your facades to accommodate inter-story movements without damage. - Consideration of inter-story drift according to NBCC, ASCE 7, or Eurocode 8 - Verification of deformations and differential movements - Design of flexible anchors, sliding joints, and flexible clips - Integration of torsional effects in asymmetrical buildings.

6. Resistance to Forced Entry (Breach)

We offer certified solutions to prevent intrusion through glazing or frames.- Glazing tested according to EN 356, UL 972 or CAN/ULC S332 - Analysis of vulnerable areas: thresholds, openings, side panels - Verification of glazing retention (clips, wedges, reinforced silicone).

7. Resistance to Explosive Blast

For sensitive buildings, we offer specialized calculations against detonation pressures. - Analysis according to ASTM F2248, UFC 4-010-01, or EN 13541 - Verification of maximum acceptable plastic deformations - Selection of reinforced glazing (PVB or ionoplastic interlayers).
